Security Posture

Security Posture shows Lanview-collected security information for managed devices.

It helps administrators review selected security-related device state from Lanview Studio. It is not a full vulnerability scanner or external compliance certification.

Security Posture is an evolving feature in Lanview.

What Security Posture shows

Security Posture can include snapshots or findings collected from managed devices.

The exact information shown depends on the installed version and the information available from the device.

Where to view Security Posture

Security Posture may be available from:

  • the main Lanview Studio Security Posture module
  • Device Window > Security Posture
  • related device summary or hardware security pages where information overlaps

Data freshness

Security Posture information is snapshot-based unless the page states otherwise.

If the data appears out of date, request a refresh where supported and permitted.

Required permissions

PermissionAllows
security.posture.viewView security posture snapshots and findings.
security.posture.refreshRequest a fresh security posture snapshot where supported.
device.summary.viewView device summary context where required.

Audit behaviour

Viewing posture data is generally read-only.

Use the audit documentation for the installed version to confirm refresh audit behaviour.

Security posture data can reveal operational details about devices. Treat it as sensitive operational data and redact it before sharing outside the organisation.

Good practice

  • Treat posture data as a collected snapshot.
  • Do not interpret posture findings as complete vulnerability coverage.
  • Review posture information alongside inventory, audit and other operational controls.
  • Refresh stale data before acting on it.
